Junior Counselor (JC)
Age 16 (Grades 10-11)
The Junior Counselor program is a 4 – 6 week voluntary program for youth who have successfully completed the CIT program at Camp Mansfield, or similar training at other camps or school. JC’s will be mentored and supervised by Camp Mansfield Counselors and Senior Leadership staff. JC’s must attend a week of Camp Mansfield Summer Camp staff training and will be required to adhere to the Camp Mansfield staff policies and procedures. Successful participants may receive up to 80 volunteer hours per week.*
Junior Counselors must apply and compete for a limited number of JC positions through the Camp Mansfield online employment application system. JC’s must also participate in a successful interview, reference and background check prior to participating in any Camp Mansfield activities. JC’s may apply for a monetary stipend for their volunteer service.
JC’s will select Core activities to develop their instructor skills, they will also assist their mentor counselor in supervision in Cabins, Dining Hall, Activity Areas and Camp Wide programs.
Youth who successfully complete the Junior Counselor program will be eligible to receive their Grade 11 Healthy Living and Outdoor Activities Credit PAD 30.**

Camp Staff Ages 16+
Camp Mansfield staff are a dedicated group of youth and young adults who collectively believe in the transformative nature of summer camp. Most of our counselors have spent many summers at Camp Mansfield, and look forward to continuing the old traditions of camp while making new memories and experiences for this years campers. Working at a residential summer camp is a rewarding experience which provides a lifetime of memories, new friends and experience that could lead to successful university applications, scholarships and multiple career opportunities.
Our counselor staff take pride in providing the best possible experience for each camper, and often create unique and exciting new ways to instruct the Camp Mansfield Skill Advancement Program activities.
To be eligible for summer employment with Camp Mansfield you must have current First Aid and CPR certifications, experience or an interest in working with children and participate in a successful criminal background check with vulnerable sector screening.
